Rex and Melinda Guynn

Missionary Ventures

Kitgum, Northern Uganda

Rex & Melinda moved to Uganda in October 2006 from Florida, USA.

Rex left his job and secure future prospects as a Chief in the Fire Service to serve God in Africa.  Melinda left a medical management position to volunteer in the Missionary Ventures International Office for three years prior to moving to Uganda.

They have three sons: Ryan 27 years, Aaron (deceased), and Blake 21 years.

As members of the Christian Motorcycle Association, they have spent the last 11 years ministering in prisons, motorcycle rallies and churches in their home state of Florida. They served as elders in the church and leaders in their community.

To love the people and share the good news of Jesus Christ around the world has become their greatest passion and they demonstrated this for some years by leading short-term mission teams.

Their desire in coming to Uganda is to take the gospel to the least reached people of Eastern Africa, building strong relationships with indigenous leaders.

Rex & Melinda are working most strongly with the Batwa pygmy people in the South-west and the Acholi people of Northern Uganda .  They feel led to progress into Southern Sudan in the future.
